CONTACT Lifeline

  

CONTACT Lifeline* is a crisis hotline that serves anyone who is depressed, lonely, thinking about suicide or just needs to talk.  CONTACT Lifeline offers a compassionate listening ear when you need it most. The Lifeline is open Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday, 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.  CONTACT Lifeline adheres to national standards for crisis call centers and upholds current accreditation with CONTACT USA.

 

  National Suicide Prevention Lifeline

  CONTACT Lifeline answers calls for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, or

  1-800-273-8255 (TALK).  This number can be accessed 24/7. 

 

 

 

 

  

 

 

 

 Crisis Chat

 CONTACT Lifeline also offers a one-on-one chat service (Instant Messaging) for  people who prefer to reach out for support via text.  This can be accessed at www.CrisisChat.org.  Chat is open Monday - Friday from 12 noon - 6 p.m.

CONTACT Lifeline is always looking for Volunteers to staff the lines.  If you are interested in Volunteering, please fill out the volunteer application.

 

*CONTACT Lifeline was formerly called the Samaritans Crisis Hotline or the Samaritans Suicide Prevention Center and has served the Capital Region since 1985.  CONTACT Lifeline changed its name in 2009 to reflect current accreditation and affliation with CONTACT USA.
