Capital Counseling

I’d like to welcome you to the Capital Counseling information page. You may have come to this page wondering if seeing a counselor could help to resolve a personal, relationship, family, substance use, or another concern. If so, I congratulate you on taking this action to improve your situation.

Let me give you some information that can help you in your decision about pursuing counseling.

The counselors at Family and Children’s Services of the Capital Region are Master’s degree and Doctoral degree trained professionals with many years of experience. We are licensed by the State of New York, and credentialed to provide counseling which is reimbursable by public and private health insurers. We are skilled in addressing a wide range of life issues.

Counseling is a process through which people have an opportunity to fully assess their current situation, and the changes they may want to make with the purpose of improving their happiness, relationships, and effectiveness at home or work. Some of the concerns people are helped with include depression, anxiety, too much anger, relationship difficulties, parenting challenges, drug use, and more.

Capital Counseling has offices in Albany, Clifton Park, and Saratoga Springs. This allows us to be accessible to most of the Capital Region. We will soon be offering services in Schenectady as well.

You can schedule an appointment easily by calling us at (518)462-6531 and telling the receptionist that you’d like to meet with a counselor. We will make all the arrangements if you plan to use your health insurance.

We are available for appointments between 9 am and 9 pm Monday through Thursday, and 9 am to 5pm on Friday.
